VITICULTURE REGIONS

Grapes are sourced from our home vineyard, twenty acres of park-like grounds set in picturesque Waimauku, Auckland – Chardonnay, Albarino, Pinot Gris and Malbec.

Grapes are also sourced from a single vineyard in Marlborough – Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.

Our stunning Syrah is made with fruit grown on Waiheke Island.

The fruit is hand-picked and the juices carefully blended to produce iconic wine styles that show the incredible depth, diversity and flavours of New Zealand.

WAIMAUKU, AUCKLAND

The Winery and Estate vineyard is positioned in the tranquil Waikoukou Valley, Waimauku. Westbrook is one of several well-known wineries making their home in this wine-making haven, north-west of Auckland City. The first Sauvignon Blanc grown commercially in New Zealand was from this region. Surrounded by a farming landscape, the vineyard is nestled in a unique growing micro-climate, growing Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris and Malbec.

MARLBOROUGH

This is a rapidly growing region in viticulture gaining worldwide recognition. The Wiffen Estate Vineyards in the Wairau Valley currently supply Westbrook with a large percentage of Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, with further plantings on these sites being planned in the coming years. Further up the valley contracts are being signed to develop more vineyards.

Marlborough has more hours of sunshine than other regions in New Zealand and a long slow ripening season extends well into late April, with cool nights preserving acidity and concentrating fruit flavours.
